Any idea when we can expect the next Transmog contest from the Amateur?
Funny you should ask, as we’re getting very close to the next Transmogrification event around these parts. However, in the mean time I’m going to direct you once again to Neri Approves and her monthly transmog contests. For June, it’s the red carpet!
I’m trying to save up to buy Vial of the Sands (I hate archaeology) but am having a hard time making any money on the AH. Any sure fire method you can suggest?
There are a couple of things I would suggest that can help you to nickel and dime your way towards your total. It depends on your gameplay as to how aggressively you approach it. At the same time, I can’t carve out a sure fire “will not fail” means. This time of an expansion can be hard to profit from. Every server is different, and it requires some deep analysis. As I stated recently, you’re better off collecting now to profit when Mists hits…or getting a gathering profession to 525 so you can put it to use right away and sell the mats for vast income. If you have the patience, that’s your best bet.
Did you play Diablo 3? What did you think of it?
Ugh, I did not. The offer was there, but the ability was not. Two completely different operating systems and still no luck in our household. Oddly enough, once the shiny wore off, I don’t feel like I missed anything. Friends keep telling me I need to go back and play Diablo II anyway.
Are you going to run dungeons like you do raids?
Yes and no. I will be taking part in “Laid Back Dungeons.” However, I’m not running them (though I’ll happily coordinate Horde side unless someone has taken care of that). Shoryl actually started that process about two weeks ago. I’ve not heard whether they’ve been a success or not so far, but starting next week you can count me in. Let’s hear it for my summer schedule!
Love the Top 5 series on Transmog Weapons. Any chance you’ll expand that idea and give more ideas?
Absolutely. I’ve started working on several transmog project style posts, it’s just a matter of having the time to do them and finish them. Heck, as it is I’ve only published three of the “Faction Transmog” posts. But getting back to your question, you can certainly expect more. I’ve just had a great many other things to write about as of late and not a lot of time to work on said projects.
I was wondering if you could do one of your “Faces of the Amateur” for one my characters?
I can do one better, actually. I use WoW Signature Generator to create them. As you’ll see when you visit that site, there are a number of options to work with and a relatively easy system.

I’m planning to do some Lick King Dungeons this coming week – so far I haven’t gotten much interest on the page; but I’m hoping it’ll pick up now that D3 is winding down.
Also, with D3 – you might want to read my post about it. I didn’t enjoy it, which is not to say that you won’t either, but it’s a perspective I haven’t seen much of.
