Here I am some twelve hours later and Saintvache still cannot be logged into. I opened a ticket this morning explaining he is the only character that is having this problem and that it started during the server chaos last night. I tried disabling addons and every other usual trick for such an occasion. Nothing worked. I was surprised to get an in-game mail reply to my ticket. Then I was irked.
“Thank you for contacting Blizzard Entertainment Customer Support. We have reviewed your ticket and are confident that our support site will be able to assist you in resolving this issue quickly.”
This is the third time in the last four tickets I have opened with Blizzard that have either been useless or (in other cases) provided me with the wrong information outright. These generic replies are not only annoying, but it’s also frustrating because I need to now submit another ticket to actually get the issue resolved. I get that the tech guys are busy, especially with Mists coming, but the generic response only causes the queue to be even longer and no doubt irritate the player base. If that weren’t enough, the support threads I found relating to the issue were to have a GM move the character out of Northrend!
edit: Someone moved him to Brill and problem solved…now to upgrade his gearscore so he can do Theramore…lol

Boooo
Yeah. That Theramore goes live today and he’s my only Horde toon isn’t helping my mood.
I completely understand their conversion to an automatic system to save money, but the number of people I’ve seen who have had to reopen their tickets because they got an incorrect canned answer is ridiculous. They really need to refine whatever algorithms they’re using so that tickets that can actually benefit from a canned response get them, but it escalates the ones that need to be answered by a real person correctly.
Responses used to be amazing and helpful and…such is the way of customer support in general anymore, I suppose.
Yeah…
I sure hope I don’t have to contact them. That’s the same kind of stuff that made me switch internet/phone provider. My favorite was telling you to go to their website to fix internet problems when the problem was you didn’t have an internet connection.
Yeah, just like our phone company tells you to call them if your phone doesn’t work. That’s brilliant, right there.
You’ve been having such a bad run with them lately. Hopefully this will change very soon with you taking it out at Theramore (on whichever side you’re on at the time)
I know. It’s sad when your main reason for staying with the game continues to blow up.
Wow, that wasn’t meant to be nearly as QQ as it came out…
I had the same problem with two of my characters; for future reference though, clicking “system” on the login screen, then “reset user options” worked for me – no idea if you tried that or not, to me it was a relief to have something other than “reinstall wow” work.
I did actually try that as it had come across in someone else’s thread, but it was to no avail for me.
