With a little bit of pet battling, I hit level 90 on Tumunzahar. It was a good feeling, and a strange feeling. I think because I returned at such a high level to begin with, it didn’t really feel like a huge accomplishment. Perhaps it’s due to the fact I really didn’t feel Pandaria and viewed the last few weeks as nothing more than getting ready for Draenor. I have another theory as well, but we’ll get to that in a moment.
If you look at the picture, you’ll see that Tum is standing in front of the Pet Battler in Shadowmoon Valley. I took great pleasure in doing the daily, and kicking his arse for the monumental ding. When I first found him, I beat him with ease. When he turned into a daily, it took six tries. Hate his pets. So, yes, I relished the moment (which I attribute to the pet generosity of Tome, by the way). There is much more significance to me choosing that location though. You see, man,y many, many, many, many moons ago, I hit the level cap for the very first time. Level 70, with Siori, and yes that’s the zone I did it as well. So I felt the need to come full circle and do it again.
Except, I didn’t.
For the first time since I started playing World of Warcraft, I did not hit the level cap with Siori. I’ve always gone through the game with her blazing a path and the rest of the crew following behind (at various paces, of course). She was the one to see everything first. Heck, if not for a nap she would’ve been world first Rogue to 80 in Northrend. I think that’s where part of this odd feeling comes from. It just seems out of sorts for someone such as myself who settles in to a certain way of doing things. But, she remains retired. Oh, she still “makes with the stabby-stabby” as Mrs. Amateur would say. But her heading to new worlds and such ended back when she watched the fleet leave for Pandaria in the first place.
So now that I’m 90, what now? I know Shoryl and Mrs. Amateur spoke of scenarios, while there’s dungeons I haven’t seen and a few easy pets I haven’t caught. There’s always learning the panther mount recipes, or seeing where the level 90 quests lead me lore wise. For Tumunzahar, time will tell.
For the rest, it’s hard to say. Liouxpold has landed in Pandaria, and seems to enjoy gallivanting about with his pets, not to mention I think Tum has relayed a few more. There’s also a Horde presence with Saintvache and even another Priest in Paramita. Do I level Logard so that he’s ready for the return to his homeland? Perhaps someone lower will step up in their adventures.
Ah, the joys of altitis and the time between expansions.
