Eight days ago, our favourite Priest Tumunzahar dinged 80. I should’ve made the celebratory post, but I didn’t. As days passed, it seemed less and less important. Also, I’ve not managed to do a great deal of Heroic healing so far. My first Emblem of Conquest came in 10-man Obsidian Sanctum. The offtank I was looking after was rather shocked when the achievement popped up. I’ve also done Heroic Violet Hold a few times, as well as Nexus and Drak’Tharon. Did some of Old Kingdom but we ran out of time. I’ve also done regular ToC about half a dozen times.
So last night I was doing some Jewelcrafting work, when I saw a group looking for a healer for Utgarde Keep. I know I can handle that…and get some Emblems in the process. When we start, the group wonders briefly where I am before pointing out it’s Utgarde Pinnacle we’re doing. Buh? I’ve never healed it on regular, let alone Heroic.
What followed was easily the Healing ride of a lifetime. For starters, the tank flew through the place. He also went for nearly every achievement you can think of. I know this because I got them:
Six achievements in one run! To be fair, the Emblems one was a bit of an added bonus. The important thing, was out of the run I died once (Gauntlet) and our Mage died twice. However, after the Gauntlet no one died. I nearly ran out of mana trying to keep up, but never once asked to stop.
The run reassured me that healing is what I do best, and that I’m definitely getting the hang of it. It also reassured the recent spec tweak that I did with Tum, putting a few more ranks into Disc but still being Holy.
