Of the ten classes in World of Warcraft, there are three I just can’t seem to get into -Warlock, Paladin (Tauren should change that), and Warrior. Out of those three classes, I have never gotten a toon past level 20. With that last one, I think that’s about to change courtesy of one ability.
My biggest problem with the Warrior class at low level was its inability to stay alive while fighting multiple mobs at the same time (or God forbid just continuous fluke aggros). I leveled my Priest as Holy for 80 levels prior to the random dungeon finder and I never had so much trouble staying alive as I did with my Warriors. Folks told me later in the game things got better, but I just couldn’t get to that point. Even my first Warrior to 20, Levache, was deleted recently as at this stage it’s just easier to re-roll him on my Horde server. Am I ever glad I did!
Levache learned Victory Rush at level four and wondering how well it worked I tested it immediately. The ability triggers after you kill a target, giving you 20 seconds to use it. VR deals damage, but also heals you for twenty percent of your health. That’s right, when you’re in the faces of danger, you can heal a fifth of your health. In Mulgore, I always found the Gnoll areas frustrating. Not anymore. Unlike previous toons and classes, I never died once (which may say more about my grasping combat, but I credit Victory Rush for keeping my Warrior alive).
Blizzard has done a lot to make the leveling process different and giving the Warrior a means to actually fight at lower levels suddenly makes the class interesting to me. No other class should excel at fighting more than this class and up until the trees were changed, I found it to be the class that excelled at dying. I now like playing the class rather than just the character, and knowing that Levache and my soon to exist Worgen Warrior are going to be able to charge hard into battle and live to tell about makes me a happy Amateur Azerothian.
