The first week of Cataclysm has been great. The new content left and right, the Guild Achievements, the return of fools to Trade…and an absence of friends and self.
Okay, so the last one isn’t that great at all. However, it is something I’ve noticed. Our guild isn’t very large but some of us just haven’t been on very much. Even I’ve not had the time I normally would for Azeroth, and I can tell you right now it’s only going to get worse. Even today, my wife and I will be out of town for the day as we join the family for some Christmas festivities.
Many people will be traveling to many places in the coming weeks, just as we are or you might be. While Cataclysm is booming in activity and attendance, your guild or friends list might not be, for various holiday reasons. I know those who pay monthly even consider stopping for the period over the holiday season simply because they don’t feel they’ll get any play time in. With all the chaos of family and visiting, they don’t want to try to force some WoW time in. Others are the exact opposite. Amidst said chaos, they need that “break from reality” or just the chance to go out and stab something. What about yourself? Is Azeroth your sanctuary during the holidays or is it a ghost land for your characters?
