With all the excitement (positive or negative) from the Mists of Pandaria announcement last weekend we’ve almost forgotten what’s coming at us before then. Honestly, I’ll be lucky if I encounter Deathwing before the next expansion goes live and I’m quite alright with that. I’ll be too busy suiting up every one of my toons with the awesomeness that is Transmogrification.
By now you know the deal. Go to some of the finest Consortium representatives in your capital city (Orgrimmar or Stormwind) and as long as you have the gear on you then you will be able to make the gear you’re wearing look the same. In other words, this is exactly what I suggested at the start of the year. I’d like to think Blizzard was working on this long before I (or, no doubt, others) suggested it but it doesn’t stop me from taking a moment for myself.
I’ve been quite vocal about hating the sea of clones at the level cap and this was without a doubt the biggest thing I wanted added to the game. I salivate at the idea, I kid you not. My Priest will look like a Priest instead of something akin to a Walrus skinned and turned inside out. My Human Mage won’t look like a poorly completed Light Brite model while leveling. Of course, the RP market will take things even further and I honestly can’t wait to see what other folks dream up. I recognize it’s an MMO, but it’s nice to see us finally getting to be individuals while we play.
No doubt many people are like myself, and already starting to plan outfits. Of course that means also getting the components you’ll need on hand in order to transmog your current wardrobe. I’ve seen a number of methods people are using to reach that goal but it’s my opinion you can’t go wrong with MogIt. Nothing like seeing gear in-game, on your character, and finding out exactly where to get it. You can even create a wishlist, or as I call it a “shopping list.”
Patch 4.3 is going to offer us so much to cap off the current expansion, but for many people Cataclysm has been a marinaded steak that’s going to taste oh so sweet after a little cooking on the Transmog Grill. Bon a petit!
