Guest Post: An Instance In An Instance

Today’s post comes courtesy of my friend Kuroma.  In chatting, she told me this story and suggested someone should make a post about it.  So, I gave her the spotlight to do just that.

So the other day I hopped on my level 29 toon and fired up the random dungeon queue.  When it went off I was excited as it was Scarlet Monastery Graveyard (first time I’d been out of Gnomer).  So, I cliked to enter the instance and ran all the way to the crypt to catch up with the rest of the group at the final boss.  One little problem, boss was already dead.  I ran back to the beginning to see if maybe they didn’t kill the first boss.  Nope, they did.  That means the queue put me into a finished dungeon.

Since I was in there I went and got the quests anyway and sat my character’s butt down.  The group wanted me to leave since they wanted to queue again, but I refused to leave because I knew I’d get the dungeon debuff.  Fortunately, two of the members had no problem with that.  The other two got upset but said they could easily queue with anyone else and left.

After my dungeon cooldown was up, the three of us queued…however a minute later they left as well.  Needless to say the overall experience left me feeling very cheated.  I waited almost half an hour in the dungeon queue only to end up in one already completed and then had to wait another 15 minutes so I didn’t get the debuff.  I can’t help but wonder if this is something that’s happened to anyone else?
