As I travel around my main realm these days, I’m finally seeing more Transmogrification going on and it’s nice. As I expected when the news was announced, there’s less feeling of being cast among the pod people and some of the creativity is starting to shine through. I thought I’d take the time to highlight a few that I’ve seen on Runetotem.
Rashßringer has a great Frost spec outfit here. It’s one I’ve not really seen, yet the second I saw it I knew exactly what I was looking at. The Tabard of Frost and Argent Avengerare nice touches. Unfortunately, you can’t get either one any more. Rashßringer also has a Blood spec, complete with gear. I thought I had a screenshot of it, but alas I do not.
I did manage to grab a picture of Dexnight in what I thought to be a decent look for a Blood spec, but that set is starting to wear off with me and I only say that because I’m seeing it more and more on nearly every realm. I credit Anne Stickney for drumming up interest in the look though (note all the Burning Crusade stuff again?).
Another look I’m seeing more than I’d like is the Mooncloth Robe. Don’t get me wrong, I do like the Robe. I did when my Tailor first got the recipe. However, it seems to be the favourite among casters, whether they’re Priests, Mages, or even Warlocks. It’s your character, so do what you want. Just sharing my two cents. It’s why I like the way Tumunzahar looks right now. He’s the same “white garbed” Priest as everyone else, but the additional colors makes him standout just a little bit. You can see him next to Lovali in the Mooncloth Robe here:
A Priest outfit done very well belongs to my lovely friend Rosemarylee. As I told her, the Tier 2 Robes of Transendence look sharp, and that she went the extra length in the hair color deserves applause.
I think the class that has impressed me most, though, is the Paladins. I expected fully to see Judgement and Lawbringer sets, and in fairness I have. Not as much as I’d expected though. Minstraysha has done a great job of putting together a Sin’dorei look, right down to the Greatmace. An excellent mix of colors and you can tell there was thought put into building it (perhaps with some MogIt tinkering?).
Then there’s Claudia who brings a nice Cataclysm blend to the Paladin look, and has even improved on it since I took my screenshot of her on the weekend by adding the Warlord’s Iron-Legplates. Of course, this is one of those cases where the look suits the female toon and might not look quite as good on a male.
Before I get too carried away with this post, I’m going to end things off with just a couple of Druid shots that made me smile. Neriak I actually had to look up, because I had no idea she was a Druid. I really expected a Mage or Priest based on the silver-thread outfit. Alas, I was unfamiliar with the Cadaverous set (let’s forget I play a Rogue ok?). Once again, it blends well with her tabard (in this case, a Guild design) and the shoulders are a nice touch to accent things. Doesn’t exactly scream Druid (let alone Resto), but that’s ok as my Shaman currently looks like anything but as well.
As is often the case with a list, I’ve gone and saved what I believe is the best for last. I came across Gorrym while I was acquainting toons with Greatfather Winter this year and checking the auction house for some of my own Transmog ideas. I literally had to stop and comment on it. To me, the outfit screams, possibly even defines, Druid. We were chatting and he said the kicker was the shoulders, which were a fluke drop. Can’t argue when that happens. Now, it was one thing to look at this package in admiration, but my appreciation went up a whole other level when I looked at his spec: Feral(!) That’s right, someone who’s going to spend most of their game in animal form still went to lengths to put this together. Very well done.
You’d think after all these selections, I’d share my own (well, more than the shot of Tumunzahar and a link to Carrera). I will, I just want to put together a few more first. I wanted today to be more about the work of others. My own creations can thus wait for another day.
