Welcome everyone to the results episode of Mog Madness for the first round! Today we finally get to showcase the talented folk who took part, and unfortunately have to make some tough decisions as to who moves on to the next round. We can’t stress just how hard this process was.
In case you missed it during yesterday’s post, none of the judges actually knows at this point who has won and is moving on. We cast our votes, but no one added them up prior to me doing so in this post. I’m excited and I know the ladies are as well, so let’s get to it.
We’re set now to take a look at each entry, show you their score, and share thoughts from the judges one by one. At the very end we’ll go back to the scores and determine who’s moving on to the next round! Let’s get started, shall we?
JD: Honestly, I can’t think of another outfit I’ve seen that looks like this. Alanna’s Embrace is a popular dress but not to the extent of this outfit. It reminds me somewhat of Amisi Azuregaze, the Dalaran Innkeeper, but even classier. The Heroes Crown of Faith and Staff of Immaculate Recovery are great additions. 13.8
Effy: Usually when I see this robe it’s done with its white Mooncloth sister, and rarely in this color, so I give points for that. I actually prefer the alternative gloves (Soulcloth), though, as I think the darkness of the shoulders, feet and hands distract from the delicate nature of the outfit. I also think a less cliche headpiece and staff would have moved me to give better marks. Lastly, I have to give marks to Cymre’s great use of character traits and scenery – the stark black hair on her Blood Elf makes me think Egyptian and goes great with the Uldum scenery. 12.8
TotA: As usual Cymre is looking elegant, I’ve really never seen her look otherwise. She pulls off that aloof Egyptian Godess look effortlessly and the choice of Uldum as a background, perfect. 13.5
JD: I’m going to take a bit of flack on this, but no matter how much I like an outfit I have to be honest. While the color brings out the wand a bit more in the outfit, the shoulders don’t quite fit what I feel from the outfit. Part of that is that it feels less medieval and more desert. Like I said, I like the idea and I like the outfit but for my tastes, Resilient Mantle would’ve made for better shoulders. 14.3
Effy: I am immediately taken by the bold creativity of this outfit. I agree, she has a desert hermit feel – a sand witch, even, if I should be so bold. (Okie, too close to sandwich, scratch that – desert witch.) It is a simplistic outfit, but a combination rarely seen. I think the shoulders fit nicely, as they look to be taken from a creature she cultivated or hunted in the dunes. 14.8
TotA: I really love this outfit. I like the Tribal look and when looking at this witch I can’t help but hear whispered stories of ancient times. Lovely. 14.6
JD: The Sin’dorei Robes are probably one of the most beautiful in the game. Unfortunately, it means I see them used a great deal. Having said that, what saves this outfit is the accessories. The most common thing people do is try for the flaming wreath or crown as the headpiece. The Runecloth Headband is a nice deviation. Your choices for her hands are excellent as well. 13.0
TotA: My first thought when viewing this outfit was FIRE MAGE! Yes, a loud thought! I am partial to red to begin with and love the accessories. I also like the choice of the Headband over Circle of Flame, nicely done! 12.9
Effy: I am immediately taken by this outfit on a Night Elf, as opposed to the more often seen Blood Elf (obviously, since it is named for the Sin’dorei). I agree it is a commonly used robe, but it is pulled off very nicely. I love the offhand! I too think this outfit says Fire Mage on a Night Elf, since it does not really have the Priestess of Elune feel. Overall, I think this outfit is very well put together. 13.0
JD: I consider this to be one of the bravest entries. I have seen more female Priests (and casters in general) in the Mooncloth Robe than I care to ever see again. But, it’s the ONLY knock I have against this entire outfit. The rest of the outfit comes together so well that the Robe actually suits it. I love the detail in choosing each piece, including her main and off-hand (not shown in this picture) items. This was nearly my judge’s choice for the opening round. 14.3
Effy: Yes, the Mooncloth robe is kind of a typical Night Elf Priest piece, but I agree that it was accessorized beautifully. The only piece in this outfit that gives me pause is the cloak. (I must be very anti-cloak, I know.) But I find it much darker than the other pieces, and taking away some of the delicate nature of the outfit. Overall, though, I find this outfit boldly and creatively done. 13.5
TotA: She looks like an iconic image of a Night Elf Priest to me. A feeling of serenity and purpose surrounds her. If I were battling, no matter the odds if this were my healer I’d feel secure in victory. I really like everything about the outfit. 14.1
JD: I like this outfit, especially the use of the Kilt for the Leggings. It screams Fire Mage and the creepy eyes of the model scream I will nuke you. Still, as I look at it…there’s just something missing. I can’t honestly put my finger on it…hardly fair explanation, but it just isn’t quite jumping out at me as much as I want it to. 12.4
Effy: I think the usage of red and purple in this outfit is amazing. I actually had to look up which shoulders she is wearing, though, because they sit so fracking far back on Draenei. However, this outfit almost seems more suited to a Warlock with its dark nature (and the Murkablo accessorizing). I think what JD sees missing is some “pop” of color, of fire, in the outfit – perhaps what the Circle of Flame would give to this outfit. 13.8
TotA: A more beautiful yet dangerous Draenei I could not imagine. As I’ve said I love red and I think she pulls it off wonderfully. On viewing the outfit I’m struck by the sense of deadly menace she exudes. I’d say yo dawg but I’m scared she’d get me! 13.9
Effy: A Priest in Warlock’s clothing – I like the juxtapositioning here. The colors are great, the staff screams Warlock, but the helm seems to leave something to be desired. I agree that it is too bad the Warlock horns are class-specific. Perhaps a recolored piece… For some reason I keep thinking the Simple Blouse would make for a better shirt, though admittedly less cleavage. 13.4
JD: Honestly, I think the helm choice was very unique. Many components used here are. However, there’s just an overall lack of cohesiveness to the outfit that I’m finding. Many of the parts work, and to some degree they work well in color -they just conflict in motif. 12.8
TotA: I must say if that were my Guild Mum I would certainly stay in line. I do like the choice of the helm. To me it seems to go with the Warlock theme, who else but those devious Warlocks would suspend little balls of evil over their heads! 13.5
Effy: I love the colors and the theming here. I am not really feeling the mace, though. I have always found that skin awkward and obscenely oversized. That, and the shoulders do not strike me as complementing the water theme. The alternative might be the toilet-shaped T11 Priest shoulders, but I do not care for those either… 13.1
JD: If I had the power, I would make this outfit the basis for a PvP, as from a distance the face is covered and it looks very spectral and unnerving. It’s a good kind of creepy. The Guiding Star was a bold effort in my opinion, and while I like that effort I do tend to agree with Effy that it comes up short with the rest of the outfit here. 13.2
TotA: At first I found the helm distracting but the more I looked at the outfit I came to agree with JD. A helm that’s distracting AND creepy is what every good healer should have while they’re staring down the enemy! Yo Dawg! 13.0
Effy: Okie, I swear I am not in anyway biased towards Gnomes, but this outfit just immediately grabbed me and sucked me in. The robe and the mask look fabulous together and give that primitive Pygmy Gnome feel. I was going to say the gloves could better be red or yellow, but the green kind of compliments the glowing eyes of the mask. All in all, the only thing I could ask for with this outfit is a fitting story background! Uldum or Tanaris maybe? 14.7
JD: I remember when I first glanced at it, I thought it was “alright.” Then I looked closer and appreciated the overall effort here. Effy has summed it up very well, but I want to add how phenomenally the outfit really goes together. 14.2
TotA: OMG! A red outfit and a Gnome but not just a Gnome, a Pygmy Gnome, that Godmother doesn’t fight fair! I don’t really see the separate pieces in the outfit, it just reads as a “look.” You scary Gnome! 14.5
Effy: Can I give extra points for this not only being a male character, but an orc? This outfit says Shadow Council of Gul’dan to me. The scenery is somewhat saturated, but it fits the outfit. The colors mesh well, and the headpiece and shoulders really fit an Orc Warlock. The robe is simple, and therefore brings out the other pieces. 13.8
JD: The outfit very much comes off as Shadow Council like Effy says, but the shoulders are a nice touch. The problem I have is how much it takes from the Red Nemesis outfit created at Warcraft Wardrobe. Overall I like the look, and changing the robe was a positive step, but it comes off as too borrowed for me. 12.0
TotA: This outfit gets points from me for a nostalgic rush of fear of the Shadow Council. Not sure it would have the same impact on any other race for me. 13.1
Effy: I am not really convinced this piece was taken from that outfit. Yes, the outfit is using three pieces from the Nemesis recolor, but as far as putting together a “transmog” outfit (as opposed to simply dressing in a Tier set or a Blizzard-crafted set) I have a personal standard of no more than three pieces from any in-game set. Otherwise, I no longer feel it is really me crafting the set. So with that, I have to say I stand by my original thoughts.
Effy: I really like this outfit. Extra points for cloth that is not a robe. The pieces work well together and suggest a Scarlet Torturer. The only thing that brought down my overall was the crown. This outfit is so great on its own, and the crown just seems to muddy it with too much, as I think the pokers should be the focus here. I see this guy in the SM Graveyard instance, standing beside Interrogator Vishas. 14.5
JD: I really have to agree on Effy on all counts here. The non-robe look is unique, and I love the way the Lumberjack shirt and Embersilk Tunic blend together here. To echo her further, I probably would go helm-free on this one. 14.1
TotA: I have to agree with the experts here. I love this outfit. I’m glad they pointed out that is a non-robe cloth outfit as I was so taken with it I didn’t even think about that. But I agree, he should go helmless to distract less from rest of the outfit. Really wonderful. Finally, this is my “free pass” and no, really, I was not influenced by my Druid who loves Human Males, it’s the outfit! 14.6
Effy: Congrats! See you in Round 2!
Effy: Consider this my “free pass” outfit. I love this outfit! And she gets +1’s for originality, using a Tauren and making her fabulous, and for convincing me that the mace I was contemplating taking some points because of fits this outfit better than I thought. I think my favorite part is this outfit being built around a pair of bracers! – a piece often completely left out of the outfit creation process. 15.0
JD: Well, guess I’ll save adding additional comments, other than I was quite impressed with the look as well. 😉 14.5
TotA: She is indeed a fabulous Tauren! 14.7
Effy: Kudos to all the Priests proving me wrong about the overused nature of the Mooncloth Robe! Everyone we have seen use it this round has put a lot of thought and creativity into the pieces complementing the robe. I am very fond of the shoulders, and I have yet to see them used for transmog yet. I also have to give points for the unique looking offhand, which not only looks nice but keeps with the palette of the outfit. 13.9
JD: I have to agree with Effy yet again here. This is the second Mooncloth Robe we’ve seen in the contest and yet again I actually like it. For me, it could be the rest of the outfit gives it a more purple than white feel and thus it doesn’t give off the Mooncloth vibe nearly as strongly. What I like best about this, is those giant shoulderpads actually compliment the whole ensemble really well. 13.8
TotA: I like that the Mooncloth Robe can have a very different look depending on how the entrants accessorize. Love the whole outfit’s beautiful blue glow. Well done! 14.0
Effy: The piece choice and color combination of this outfit works fabulously. I have to give bonus points for the helm. Since the beginning of Cata I have loved this helm, because it always reminds of of Orko from He-Man… Gnome in this outfit, FTW! I am almost overcome with how well the pieces fit, this outfit looks intended to match! I like the creative use of the mace and the excellent offhand – gotta love book offhands with good color. I am moved to change to this as my free pass – but I am holding firm on my decision for now. 14.7
JD: If you didn’t take the time to look up the gear for this outfit, you would swear it’s a Tier set, or even an instance boss. Just phenomenal, top to bottom. 14.8
TotA: My first thought was he was wearing a Tier set. On looking up the details for his outfit I was amazed. Very creative! 14.7
Effy: I promise not to be biased against this piece simply by its blatant blue and gold (and rival UofM) coloring. I think this is an overused robe, but in this outfit it is well-executed. The shoulders, hands and cloak match well, and I like the legs/feet pairing to still expose the hip that is critical with this robe. The belt is jumping out at me, though, and I feel there should be both a belt and boots that better swing either in the blue or gold (or both) direction. The offhand is gorgeous, but once again, I am thrown off by the awkwardness of the mace. 13.2
JD: I would have preferred to see something else in the Main Hand as well. In my ventures I’ve not seen the robe used all that much, nor have I seen many non-Plate wearers in Alliance colours. I think it works very well here, even the boots. I’ll agree the belt is slightly off, and for me the off-shading of the cloak tends to pull my eye away from the rest of the outfit a bit. 13.7
TotA: I love the ethereal vibe I get from this outfit. I like the blue and gold colouring, and while the belt is not bothering me, I do agree that the Mace is distracting from the overall look. 13.3
Effy: The Kurkenstoks – yes! Bonus points for the one pair of cloth sandals (without socks – socks and sandals, really, Blizzard??) I have been able to find thus far. I also give huge points to a robe skin I have yet to see successfully executed. Bravo! I think this is a fabulous outfit, but once more, I have to say the headpiece seems overdone. I think something simpler would complement much better. 14.5
JD: The spider robes aren’t used nearly enough for transmogrification, though that could be drop rate. Or it could be that no one builds an outfit like this with them. I have to agree with Effy on creating a successful looking outfit that is hurt only by the choice for headpiece. Elegant Circlet might have worked a bit better with this outfit. 14.0
TotA: Oh! Very nice! This all works so well with a little seen robe. I think I might have something against helms as the helm is the only thing distracting me from enjoying the rest of the look. 14.3
Effy: I cannot see the shoulders or cloak (if there is one) well, so I will give my initial thoughts and add to them once I can better see the accessories. From what I can see at a glance, I like this outfit on a Forsaken. The outfit is simple and I like the hood, as it makes this undead look more mysterious. (The old lady with the poison apple comes to mind, if not for the sparkly halo.) I think a different staff would be more fitting, though. The purple and gold seems to take away from the rest of the feelings presented. Something gnarled and a walking stick-like would do this outfit some great justice. 12.9
JD: This right here is my free pass and I knew it the moment I saw it. There’s a great means of blending colors here, right down to the staff used. What makes this outfit stand out even more is not only does it work, I’ve never seen a color scheme like it used anywhere. To try that in a contest like this takes a leap of confidence, and to pull it off is an accomplishment in itself. 15.0
TotA: What can I say, I am so glad to see the Female Forsaken representing! You look lovely my girl and that’s not easy when all you have to work with is, sorry, a bony frame. 14.3
Effy: The colors match well, and this is a fairly well put together Warlock outfit. But for some reason this outfit does not grab my interest like many of the others. I cannot put my finger on it. The robe maybe, but it fits the color scheme. I may have to ponder this outfit more. 12.7
JD: Ah, the Robe of Power. A nice choice for this entry. Normally I love when hair colour is included in the outfit, but in this case I think it takes away from the overall look. Actually, no, it’s that it causes the horns to stand out less and I think that takes away from things just a touch. Kudos for using a staff that doesn’t necessarily match the outfit, but isn’t horribly out of place either. 13.2
TotA: I’m happy to see that there IS a helm I can like. Horns of Justified Sins, oh, I love it. I love the name, what better sins are there. I’m not going to fault him for his hair, just because it looks kind of like mine. Just Joe comes off as a very powerful Warlock! 12.9
Effy: Points for cute, but I swear I have seen this outfit and scheme before, so I cannot bring myself to give really high originality points. I have to admit, this outfit is quite creepy in a Gnomeregan irradiated-citizen kind of way. Maybe it was in blue I saw this before. Points for putting it on a Gnome. 12.6
JD: I chuckled when this one came across my plate. Honestly, only a Gnome could pull it off. It does look a shade familiar, but it could also be that I’ll be having nightmares about the alien Gnome attacking me in my sleep now. The dive helmet doesn’t always work, but the Shimmering gear actually compliments it nicely. 12.4
TotA: Very nicely done, brings back fond memories of Operation Gnomeregan! 12.5
JD: THAT’s where we saw it from! How could I have forgotten???
Effy: I have to give some points here for a female model that 1) is not in a robe and 2) is far more modest than most Blood Elf females we see in transmog. I think the palette is gorgeous and pieces work really well together. But would I be out of line in saying I think this outfit would look better on a Draenei? <hides> 14.0
JD: This outfit looks great period. You’re welcome to put it on your beloved Draenei, but it looks great right here. The staff is a common transmog item, but in this outfit it highlights the shoulders nicely and isn’t out of place. I’m also surprised to see the conservative Blood Elf, in a good way. 14.5
TotA: She looks really lovely, in a less is more, understated way. I like it.Usually Blood Elf females are more flamboyant. I like the color scheme. Lovely. 14.0
Effy: I feel like I sound pretentious and far more Simon-like in all of these comments, but I cannot help but think this outfit is kind of stereotypical for a Blood Elf female. Lots of skin. However, the color palette is very nice, and fitting to a Blood Elf. Once more, we have nice usage of the short glove with a nicely skinned wristpiece. The belt matches, but I think there are far better belts that could complement this outfit, like the Tier 1 Priest for example. Also, the shoulders seem thrown on and out of place. 12.0
JD: This was an outfit at glance that had potential. To me, the chestpiece and the hair flow nicely, the staff works…but then it starts to conflict. The belt and gloves match each other, but not the style of the leggings and the whole ensemble is a different shade than the chest. As Effy suggested, the shoulders do feel like a tacked on afterthought. 12.1
TotA: While I liked the overall look, and though I thought her scanty look nicely done something kept bothering me and like the others, the shoulders seem the culprit. Just when I’d get into it the shoulders stopped me. 12.1
Effy: As soon as I saw the staff with this outfit, I thought perhaps this was a Worgen (Priest? Mage?) in human form, but I see it is the Chillwind Staff from Plaguelands. Ultimately, I think this outfit (except the mask) would look so great on a female Worgen model. (I may have to test that!) I like the purple/red palette presented, and though I like the shoulders and they seem to match color-wise, I am thinking more towards the Felcloth Shoulders. I would be curious to see some reasoning behind the piece choices or perhaps an archetype that is being presented – that would probably push me over from like to love. 13.7
JD: This screams originality, I’ll say that…despite the Chillwind Staff. I like the color choices, and the tribal build. That you didn’t go Worgen or Troll actually scores higher with me than my counterpart here because it comes off as less cliched. This is another outfit, though, where overall it leaves me feeling as though there’s something missing but I can’t quite put my finger on it. 14.0
TotA: I really like the tribal feel and color scheme. Like Effy I would like to know the thinking behind the outfit but nonetheless I find it very attractive, a very nice look. 13.9
JD: The effort of matching your Felguard was pretty good here. Once again the torture sticks makes her just that much meaner. I wasn’t 100% sold on the Bloodied Bandage for the waist, but the more I look at it the more it matches up well with the chest and shoulders. 13.4
Effy: Bonus points for a Dwarf female, the only one we have seen so far, and a fine job making her look truly sinister. I think you give Princess Moira a run for her money in the area of female Dwarves I would not want to encounter in a dark alley of Ironforge… This lil Dwarf strikes me as more fitting the Succubus, though. I see the two of them causing some serious havok. I think a little less skin would be my preference here, something complementing our girl’s full figure and not taking away from her scariness, because I find the Cindercloth pieces to be a little overused for such a fine canvas as our Dwarf friend here. 13.4
TotA: High marks for making a Dwarf lass look so intimidating, I wouldn’t have thought it possible! I agree with Effy, less skin might be preferable as although I’m sold on the ferocity of this Dwarf, that amount of skin seems more Blood Elf than Dwarf but then I would dare anyone to say it to her! 13.3
JD: Here’s an example where the Circle of Flame works, and that’s because it’s complimented by the Main Hand Enchant (which receives bonus points from me for creativity). This is helped by the less flashy main garb, resulting in an excellent less is more effect. 13.5
Effy: I agree, JD. She matches beautifully, the red and the fire, and the simplicity of the pieces bringing the full attention to the Crown and weapons. I like the creative usage of setting and a companion too. This little girl looks ready to punch Ragnaros in the face. I also like that we have a Goblin represented, and done very well. I dare say, I think Miss Ancient will have some positive things to say about this little FIRE MAGE! 13.9
TotA: Oh, I just love this outfit. Yes, yes, I know I favor red but everything works together for me, nothing drawing the eye in but working as a set. And I know, I have a soft spot for Goblins too! She looks formidable! 14.3
JD: This outfit is on the right track, but there’s just a little too much going on. The Imperial Red Mantle almost goes with the outfit, but there are slightly better options available in the shoulder slot (Nether Guards/Flarecore Mantle come to mind). I do love using the Shadoweave Mask, but without an accent in the outfit it doesn’t really fit. I would have preferred to see a Main Hand item that complimented it a bit more. Something like Staff of Sorcerer-Thane Thaurissan. 12.2
Effy: I like the bold canvas of modelling a female Orc, I think it is worth congratulating all our contestants who went “outside the box” of the normal transmog models we usually see – most commonly female Blood Elves, Night Elves, Draenei and Humans. I have to agree with JD and say that this outfit seems to have the right start, but leaves something to be desired in the execution. There is a lot going on here, and I would be curious to hear some of the reasoning behind the various pieces chosen. There are a lot of red/gold shoulder choices available, a few facemasks that would better fit the red presented in the robe, and same with the staff. I think it would be very difficult for any model to pull off this robe without using it as the focal point for the other pieces. 12.3
TotA: It is nice to see a female Orc represented. I start to really like it but the shoulders and mask seem to be stopping me. I agree that although some of pieces do go well they detract from the Robe for me. Overall a very nice representation of a fine, strong Orc female! 12.4
JD: While I see the Guardian Saint robe used more often than some of the others, it’s not usually to this degree. There’s so much that works here, including the overall shade and, yes, even the hair matches. My favourite thing about this outfit is the Barabaric Loincloth as it ties into the feet, the gloves and the staff, very much pulling all of those items together. 14.1
Effy: I think this outfit is put together with a lot of attention to detail, right down to the color of our Night Elf model’s hair. At first glance, I was a little thrown off by the staff, but the longer I look at this outfit, the more convinced I am that it fits and presents a very bold statement. Once again, I am fascinated by the beautiful use of great bracers that add to the outfit. The longer I comment on this outfit, the more I like it. 14.1
TotA: She looks marvelous. I don’t know how those Night Elf females manage to be scantily clad and yet still look respectable! I love the colors and this is another outfit that just works for me with nothing detracting and drawing my eyes to it. What can I say, yo dawg! 14.2
JD: I’m a big fan of this colour combination and for the most part I like how it all comes together well. The black of the Slimming Legs is a nice effort, but I think Elegant Leggings would’ve looked a bit better not just because of the colour match, but I just feel the grey/silver in what you have here isn’t really grabbing anything else. My only other suggestion would’ve been to lose Power Torrent off the Main Hand. Otherwise, I quite like this. 13.7
TotA: I love the color scheme used in this outfit and those Draenei can really pull off that look. The only thing distracting from the lovely outfit for me is the main hand weapon, other than that, a really great outfit! 13.7
Effy: Oh my! This could very well be a long-lost sister of mine! What an eerie feeling of almost looking into a mirror, though you girl, rock the skimpy look far better than I would dare. I agree with my fellow judges that this outfit is well put together and a nice yellow/gold that is seldom sported on a Draenei. I do have to agree with JD that the more grey/silver leggings detract a bit, but they are certainly the smallest part of this outfit. I disagree on the Power Torrent, though, for two reasons: 1) When transmogging, you have little choice of weapon enchant, as it uses the actual item’s enchant not that of the mogged item and 2) With a split second difference of when this screenshot was snapped, the enchant would be a very well matching orange fire. 13.9
So there you have all the stunning and creative entries and the judges look up with blinking eyes seeking sympathy for their tough job. Now it’s time to tally the voting. There are your results for round one and as you can see it was an incredibly close opening round, with just 8 points separating the participants! Feel free to applaud everyone for a job well done, and congratulations to those who made it through the first round. Of course, now we have to turn our attention to the next stage.

- Mog Requirement: The first round we gave Priests, Warlocks, and Mages our love. Now, we’re moving on to the wild. The classes are limited to either a Hunter or a Druid and your outfit must be based on using either Marrowstrike or Glaive of the Pit (same skin).
Once again we’re tossing a small curveball into the voting process for the second round. In a slight “Survivor” spin on things we’re going to ask the eliminated six people to each provide a top 5 vote and we’ll combine those scores to determine who gets a free trip past our judging and into the third round!
Also, your screenshots are not obligated to be in-game. You can use programs like MogIt, ModelViewer, or websites like wowhead or transmogger in order to capture a picture of your outfit.

as for the survivor voting, are we doing a top 5 based on the current entries or their new entries for round 2?
The survivor vote will be based on Round 2. Once we have the entries, you guys will receive an e-mail with the outfits and you’ll be asked to rank your top 5.
I was so excited to get to a computer this morning and I was not disappointed – the commentaries were indeed a great read, and so many fabulous outfits.. Congrats to those who made it through the cut!

You are right there, and while I like the WordPress themes more, I have the feeling blogger allows for better html-customization. What I really miss, though, is that blogger doesn’t support backlinks/ping backs when you link to someone else’s blog.

Indeed, if you’re a Hunter you’ll be using Mail and if you’re a Druid you’ll use Leather. Well, that and the polearm. 🙂
I asked Tome for clarification on the polearm, too, and glad I did, because I was already sketching out a theme that does not go with that weapon (keeping it to myself for future blog post).

I have just spent the last hour plying with my hunter and druid in moggit and I can def. say you’ve picked a really challenging weapon, I’m gonna need all the time we’ve got just to work on my outfit I think 😛

Congrats to everyone! So, so much creativity, so many ideas I never would have thought of! The judges’ commentary was enlightening and very entertaining, too 😀
My personal favorites — Sean B for his MODEST but still gorgeous Blood Elf, the Godmother’s perfect Pygmy Gnome, Robert from Area 52’s menacing Shadow Council warlock, Andrew from Elune’s amazing use of the Embersilk Tunic, Reluctant Raider and Blog of the Treant for doing absolutely brilliant things with the Robe of Evocation from RFC (and supa bonus love to Blog of the Treant for being the only Tauren in the round!), Melissa C’s outfit was the loveliest use of the Mooncloth Robe I’ve ever seen, Nightwill’s aqua priestess was simply gorgeous and very calming, Bronwynn took a rare and lovely robe and made it even more stunning, and I loved the bold blue and gold of btff Deb’s outfit (may I suggest Sutarn’s Ring for the belt?) and despite what all the real judges said, I LOVE the “baby rattle” style mace precisely because it is so huge and goofy, and think she used the perfect skin of that mace to go with the rest of her ensemble.
Thank very much for the nice comments! I think I have Saturn’s Rings in my Void storage and I might try that out – a belt is the more difficult part of that outfit. I love the mace from Ulduaar as well – but I cna understand it doesn’t fit as well as something else could have. I’m excited about the next round and wish everyone good luck!

I’ve been annoying my guildies as I use them to show off my creations for my priest, but now I have to buckle down and see what I can create for Round 2! OMG, I only just saw this post now and I just… I’m almost speechless! (Almost… this is ME we’re talking about.)
I was scrolling down, and with each new image I was thinking, “These are just amazing, there’s no way I can compete with this… Oh no, they’re going to give me low scores and condescending comments or something…” And then I hit my entry and was like, “Free pass? OMG, look at my scores! How is this possible?!?!” I’m sitting here in a state of shock and almost shaking. I mostly entered on a whim and because I wanted to see all the other pretty entries. I’m so thrilled you like my look!
And now I’m also panicking a little because I don’t know what you’re going to throw at us for the next round, and I’m really not prepared for certain armor classes or anything. But even if this is as far as I get I’m so totally thrilled. 😀

I love when someone uses orcs, tauren and male draeneis to show a transmog outfit! Please please please make some future round like that: any transmog in a tauren. A vegan one (so you cant use leather nor anything that looks like leather, fur, feathers). 🙂

So JD subtly reminded me that I have not been back over here since the day the results were posted, and there are just so many great comments!
It sounds like Round 1’s contestants had as much fun creating outfits and following along as we did looking at them all! The judging was so hard! JD said we were up to 26 contestants, and I was like “OMG! And we can only let 20 advance!?”

Two thumbs up, and that’s all 20 entries! Glad no one missed out. It’s funny, I saw three contestants (off the top of my head) that each had an alternate outfit and in each case I thought the very same thing.
