The Amazing Transmog Survivor Contest!

Transmorgled

It’s that time once again…I’ve cooked up another Transmogrification contest, and as some keeners figured out a little while back I will be giving away a Cinder Kitten code to the winner.  So how’s it work this time?  Glad you asked.

  • The contest will consist of four rounds if there are less than 20 people and five rounds if there are more.
  • Each round, I will select the outfit that I liked the best and felt best met the challenge for said round.
  • That person will receive immunity for the round.  All remaining contestants are fair game for elimination -which will be done completely at random.
  • After the rounds have completed, there will be two participants remaining.
  • Yes, this means at one point one person will be immune and all but one other person will be eliminated in that round.
  • The two finalists will submit an outfit for the final challenge, and all of the eliminated contestants will vote for which one they like better.
  • Most votes in the final receives the Cinder Kitten.

The number of contestants eliminated each round will be determined after the first round entry deadline has passed.  I will then outline eliminations for each round and also showcase the entries.  Speaking of which, please e-mail me a screenshot (arcanewordsmith@gmail.com) with the subject Transmog Contest (it just makes it much easier for me when sorting through my daily mail).  As usual, I will accept ModelViewer, MogIt, and in game screenshots.  Also, submitted outfit needs to be a possible endgame transmogrification.  That means no Panda’s in Druid Tier gear or a Hunter wearing a cloth belt.  Contestants are free to post their entry on their blog, save for the final round.  I do not want the voters to know who is who and turn it into a popularity contest.

Any further questions?  If so, ask away.  Otherwise you have until January 8th to get your entry in.  For the first round, since I’m giving away a cat pet, I want participants to design a Disciple of Har’koa.  Not the funky folk that have her chained, but use her as inspiration for your toon were that it were a follower of said Spirit.

Yeah, I went creative yet simple…nothing like a little Roulette to shake things up.

    • JD Kenada January 1, 2013 / 6:00 am

Flattery will get you everywhere, lol.

Can’t wait to see! Hmm, I should take a visit to see those Disciples of Har’koa up close and personal.

    • JD Kenada January 1, 2013 / 7:41 am

Excellent. Though having said that, I think I’ll tweak the post.

  5. Freyana January 1, 2013 / 10:18 am

Ooh, I’ve been looking for some transmog inspiration. Another awesome contest is just the thing I needed. Looking forward to seeing all the entries!

  6. Lorelei January 1, 2013 / 10:18 am

Sounds like a lot of fun! 🙂

Yay! I’ve finally managed to learn about a T-mog contest before it’s over! /happy dance

Now, which toon do I play dress-up with???? The agony of altoholicism…

    • JD Kenada January 1, 2013 / 1:19 pm

      My army feels your pain.

  8. satsuri January 1, 2013 / 2:54 pm

Oooh, sounds fun! I’ve been needing some mog inspiration lately.

  9. Matty January 1, 2013 / 2:58 pm

I need to check my reading comprehension big time, but is there a theme besides surviving each round?

    • JD Kenada January 1, 2013 / 3:00 pm

Eh, the tie in was that the eliminated players will vote for the winner rather than me.

      • Matty January 1, 2013 / 5:24 pm

So, it’s hard core mode? No alliances, no care packages, all hunger games and mockinjay mode? All righty then! 🙂

        • JD Kenada January 2, 2013 / 9:19 am

Nah, I don’t have the time to get THAT creative…

  10. Navimie January 1, 2013 / 7:39 pm

I am going to be different and use ONE toon for all my mogs! Yep you guessed it, that would be my one and only toon!

    • JD Kenada January 2, 2013 / 9:19 am

      How is that different? 😉

  11. Tyledres January 1, 2013 / 7:56 pm

Lol. I made a new toon just for this mog. I decided enough with the females I’m making a mog for a male troll.

    • JD Kenada January 2, 2013 / 9:19 am

      I am intrigued.

  12. MissusAmateur January 1, 2013 / 8:06 pm

oooooooOOOOOOOOOooooo – full of moggly goodness!

  13. Tyledres January 1, 2013 / 8:13 pm

I just thought of a question! Did you want just one view or more than one? A specific view or one we think best represents our creation?

    • JD Kenada January 2, 2013 / 9:20 am

That’s up to you. When I post them on the blog I will only be including one shot but if you think there’s aspects you need more than one angle to show properly, so be it.

  14. kamaliaetalia January 2, 2013 / 3:11 pm

I already have a Cinder Kitten, but that’s not going to stop me from playing! XD

    • JD Kenada January 2, 2013 / 7:26 pm

      😉

  15. zwingli Whisperwind January 2, 2013 / 6:39 pm

This is going to be such a cool contest. I wish I had the 1) imagination and 2) t-mog “know how” to pull something like that off.

What is the time limit on the entries?

    • JD Kenada January 2, 2013 / 7:27 pm

First round has to be in by the 8th. Expect the usual one week time frames.

  16. Katami January 3, 2013 / 3:48 am

Oeh, this sounds cool, I love playing with transmog thingies 🙂

Do you mind if my entry has two views squished into one image?

    • JD Kenada January 3, 2013 / 5:19 am

      That’s quite alright. 🙂

  17. Jojo January 3, 2013 / 1:38 pm

I’m so glad I read this post! I’ve been attempting to transmog gear but found it very hard to think of appropriate gear (i.e. style, colour etc) that I’d seen to match together. Then I read this and discover MogIt!!! It’s brilliant. Hopefully, this will be my first transmog contest 🙂
Just one quick question – does gear that’s not visible (i.e. bracers) need to be mogged to fit the theme? And if not, does this extend to non-visible helms? Thanks.

    • JD Kenada January 4, 2013 / 5:34 am

Nope, if it’s not visible it isn’t necessary (so bracers aren’t necessary, nor are cloaks or helms if you choose not to use them).

And MogIt is the Devil’s Playground for awesome!

  18. Erinys January 3, 2013 / 5:03 pm

Ooh just when I think it’s safe to emerge, another contest appears!

(Must avoid the desire to create SnowGnomes).

    • Navimie January 3, 2013 / 7:17 pm

There’s nothing wrong with Snowgnomes! Squashed gnomes in the snow are my favourites! Especially ones with hoofprints on them 😛

      • JD Kenada January 4, 2013 / 5:35 am

I prefer ensuring Blood Elves are just that…

    • JD Kenada January 4, 2013 / 5:34 am

      Heh.

  19. Lorelei January 5, 2013 / 6:39 pm

I just want to double check, it’s okey to make a blog post about this first outfit?

    • JD Kenada January 5, 2013 / 7:55 pm

Absolutely. Finals are the only time that’s a no-no. 😉

  20. Amijade the Warlock January 7, 2013 / 1:09 am

JD is there any theme for the first entry submission? Other than it has to be an endgame tmog? So it will be in the flavor or MoP outfits? Thanks!

    • JD Kenada January 7, 2013 / 11:58 am

      Yep, Disciple of Har’koa. 😉

        • JD Kenada January 8, 2013 / 7:41 am

          No coffee make Amijade…something…something…
