That would be Oddfodder flying off one of the hills on his fancy new Goblin Trike. Got Pésus to 20 this morning so that I could stroke that off my small to do list. This morning yet I’ll also likely have my pet bank toon set up. Depends if I work on that…or house cleaning. I do have the transmog contest ready to post so it isn’t like I’ve been idle thus far. Though, I will admit Carrera hasn’t had her experience bar move in the slightest. I was too busy getting Horrux to 60 because I decided I wanted to take him into the Laid Back Raid later tonight.
Speaking of which, just a friendly little reminder for those attending that it is Gaudy Sweater Night in the Molten Core. Nothing says fun like an ugly sweater and Horrux’s Skullflame Shield as far as I”m concerned. Also note that we’ll be starting a little early. Further to that, we can do an attunement run around 7pm EST for those who might need it.
Now if you’ll excuse me I’m going to do a pass through Storm Peaks again. I was there yesterday, found a skunk to fight, and proceeded to get my arse handed to me. Two skunks in the battle resulted in way too much healing for the pet configuration I had. As such, I still need a capture from there for my Northrend Tamer.
At Blog Azeroth this week, Cymre asked the question of what three items, for whatever reason fancies you, you would hate to lose on your main. Now, as I don’t collect everything on one toon I’m going to cheat a little bit. I’m simply going to share my top three items, period.
Is there a place where this mount doesn’t look majestic?
1. Liouxpold’s Frostsaber
I started doing the quests for this back when the rep was still absurd for the quests. Also before it was a daily. However, I will openly admit that once I found out the daily was coming I just waited and then did it that way. Recently, I paused to consider faction/realm transferring him until I realized I would lose the Frostsaber. As that immediately put an end to that idea, it made me realize how important the mount is to me.
2. Siori’s Quel’Dalar
I maintain to this day everyone should try to snag a Battered Hilt and do the quest chain to obtain the weapon. It’s a great piece of Lore for certain. From start to finish it is just an incredible chain of quests that sends you around Dalaran and Icecrown, as well as a phased version of the Sunwell Plateau ( which is one of the most beautiful raids in the game). I still have all of my screenshots from doing the chain and love to go back and look at them. Not all of the “end-result” weapons look as nice as Cunning of the Shadows (made more badass by the Berseking Enchant), but as I say it’s worth having just to experience it all. I would be incredibly disappointed to have that “undone” on me.
3. Horrux’s Skulflame Shield
My only epic world drop in over six years. Back when Liouxpold was grinding Frostsaber rep this dropped off either a bear or Chimera. I was in awe, and as Cataclysm had been announced I had planned on making a Worgen Warrior. So I hung on to it until I had created Horrux and the rest is history.
I would be incredibly disappointed to lose any of these items and I’m sure I could think of one or two more. What brought up the question, was Cymre was recently hacked and so it had spurred the thought process while waiting for the items to return. I wrote a post earlier this year about not having been hacked myself and I would be frustrated if I was…to say nothing about how I’d feel if these three were gone.
Not quite as involved as my original character showcase, thanks large in part due to the fact I’m suddenly having a heck of a time putting together the outfits I want. Still, this go around we have one new outfit and a two new models as well!
Up first is Liouxpold’s new look. I’d just like to preface it by saying I’ve still not gotten a single piece of the original outfit I designed for him. This one, though, came about after those shoulders dropped in Serpentshrine Cavern. For the waist, I had planned on using the Girdle of the Dauntless Conqueror from Heroic ToC Black Knight, but then I outleveled the instance before it dropped and realized the Heavy Scorpid Belt worked just as well. As previously, I’ve listed the outfit on Liouxpold‘s page.
Mortevache makes his debut with his dark and light blend that I have given him. Much of it uses starter DK gear, but I think I varied it up enough to make it stand out more. Also, the sword was not my first choice, but then I noticed this one on the Auction House and liked the way the blade matched with the outfit while keeping the dark aspect with the hilt. You can visit his page to get the full list.
Of course the outfit I most recently completed is for Horrux. I shared my excitement when I finally got the gloves last week. The shield I’m happy to say I’ve had since before Cataclysm launched. Liouxpold was out doing the old Frostsaber grind (but long after the rep rewarded was increased) when it fell. It was my first (and only) epic World Drop. Since I knew I’d be rolling a Worgen Warrior, I hung on to it for him. Ugh, the gloves and leggings took forever to snag! Also, his heirloom sword is part of the outfit but I do plan to switch to Avool’s Sword of Jin when the time comes after I snagged it for incredibly cheap on the Auction House. The components are on Horrux’s page.
